Through a competitive selection process, the Community Foundation of Kherson “Zakhyst” became one of five Ukrainian NGOs that will partner with five diaspora organizations to work in an advisory group on creating SwitchMobile.
SwitchMobile is a mobile app designed to facilitate the localization of humanitarian aid, focusing on skill and knowledge exchange between diaspora organizations and local NGOs.
The app will be piloted in Ukraine and later launched in other emergencies worldwide.
SwitchMobile is supported and funded by USAID – Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, aiming to create a reliable digital platform for humanitarian response.
DEMAC – Diaspora Humanitarian Response Coordination – is a global initiative working to deepen understanding of diasporas as humanitarian actors and improve coordination between diaspora organizations, local networks, and the institutional humanitarian system.
DEMAC operates under the Danish Refugee Council, Copenhagen, Denmark.
