We at the Community Foundation of Kherson “Zakhyst” have received nearly 500 kilograms of humanitarian aid collected for us by the Zhytomyr Community Foundation. The boxes contained blankets, food, hygiene products, clothing, and footwear – everything that is urgently needed by people evacuated from the Korabel district.
We are sincerely grateful to our colleagues for their support and their care for our community. This aid is not only about essential items – it is also a warm message: Kherson is remembered, and Kherson is cared for.
Why this aid is so important
On August 2, the enemy launched an airstrike on Kherson. The road bridge connecting the city with the Korabel (Ostriv) district was damaged, making logistics nearly impossible. Due to the danger, an evacuation began.
“A total of 1,641 people were evacuated from Ostriv, including 56 children and 169 people with limited mobility. Today, there is a critical need for diapers (sizes 4–5) for children, walkers, crutches, and bed linen,” said Larysa Polska, Chairwoman of the Board of the Community Foundation of Kherson “Zakhyst.”
