The war forced us to change the format of our work, but it did not change our mission. In 2025, the team Community Foundation of Kherson “Zakhyst” worked mainly remotely — and at the same time was close to Kherson and Kherson residents every day.
Our pace has not decreased, because the needs of the city have not decreased.
We respond where it hurts the most. We help people, support medical institutions, rescue services, and restore basic living conditions. In 2025, we opened a new direction — supporting Kherson residents who were forced to leave their homes and became internally displaced persons. Through the “Free Together” Assistance Centers in eight regions of Ukraine, we continue to remain a link for them to their hometown.
In principle, we do not transfer money — we transfer assistance. Each request is processed together with suppliers, logistics, accounting, and the official transfer of property. Whenever possible, we choose Kherson businesses, because supporting the city means supporting those who remain and work in it despite the shelling.
We continue to work. Because Kherson is holding on — and we are holding on with it.
